Mice chewed through the wiring in my truck last winter, and the repair wasn't cheap. I like that RodentPulse gives me an extra layer of protection without having to put poison under the hood. Easy to set up, too.

I got the two-pack so I could put one in my car and another in the garage. I appreciate having different power options and not needing to replace bait or chemicals. The setup was pretty straightforward.

I don't drive my second car very often, especially during the colder months. I wanted something simple to help discourage mice from nesting in it. Being able to use AA batteries instead of drawing power from the car is a big plus.

Why mice end up under the hood

A parked car is the warmest, quietest spot on the block

Illustration of signs of mice in a pickup engine bay: nest material beside the air box, droppings in the battery tray, a chewed wire
    1. They move in when it turns cold

Autumn and winter are when mice look for shelter, and a car that sat all evening is still warm underneath.

    2. They nest where it is sheltered

On top of the battery, inside the air box, behind the engine cover: anywhere warm that the wind does not reach.

    3. Then they chew

Rodents gnaw constantly to keep their teeth worn down. Wiring insulation, hoses and the cabin air filter are all within reach.

    4. And the bill lands on you

A chewed harness can mean warning lights, a car that will not start, and hours of labour tracing where the break is.

RodentPulse does not repair anything, and it will not clear a nest that is already there. Its job is to make the space less inviting, so they do not settle in to begin with.

    What customers are saying

    • Extra protection for my Ford! Mice damaged some insulation under the hood of my Ford last year. I secured this near the side of the engine bay and the installation was pretty simple. Hoping to avoid another expensive surprise.

    • My old Toyota doesn't get driven much these days, so rodents have always been a concern. I decided to use two units in the engine bay for extra coverage. Setup was simple.

    • Found a good spot for it under the hood of my car. It's compact enough to stay out of the way, and the lights make it easy to tell when it's running. Exactly what I was looking for.

    • Installed these in my Volvo after noticing signs of rodents near our parking area. There was enough room to position them in two spots under the hood. I like the added peace of mind.

    • We found signs of mice around the wiring in our vehicle and didn't want to wait for a costly repair. Got this mounted under the hood as part of our prevention setup. So far, it's been easy to maintain.

    • I was worried about finding a place to mount it, but a couple of zip ties did the job. It feels secure, and I didn't have to drill anything. Pretty straightforward installation.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Will it get rid of mice already living in my car?

No. RodentPulse is a deterrent, not a cure. If there is an active nest, clear it first with traps or a pest professional, then use RodentPulse to help keep the space unwelcoming.

Why not just use peppermint oil?

Peppermint oil works by scent, and scent fades, so it has to be re-applied. RodentPulse uses sound and flashing light instead, so there is nothing to re-apply. Like any deterrent, results vary.

    Where should I mount it?

Under the hood, zip-tie it to a firm bracket or hose support, facing the open space where mice tend to settle: on top of the battery, around the air box, behind the engine cover. Keep it away from the exhaust, hot engine parts, fluids and anything that moves, such as fans and belts. In a garage or shed, set it on a shelf facing the open floor. Sound does not pass through panels or walls, so aim it at the space you want to protect.

Will it work in my car, truck or RV?

It is made for parked vehicles: cars, trucks, SUVs and RVs. The vehicle cable works on 12V and 24V systems and connects to the battery posts. You can also run it from a USB power source or on 3 rechargeable AA batteries (not included). All it needs is a spot where cable ties hold it firmly, with a clear line to the open space.

    Does it actually work?

It is a deterrent, and results vary with the animal and the space. Sound only reaches what it has a clear line to, so placement matters more than anything else. That is why it comes with a 30-day money-back guarantee: if it does not work for you, email support@eircore.com and we refund 100%.

Can I hear it? Will it bother my dog or cat?

Some settings can be heard by people and by pets, and some animals react more than others. Do not use it near pet rodents such as hamsters, gerbils, guinea pigs or pet rats. Follow the manual.

Will it drain my car battery?

On the 12V/24V vehicle cable it is wired to the car, as the manual shows, and runs from the car battery the whole time you are parked, so it does use some charge. If the car sits for weeks at a time, or the battery is already weak, run it on rechargeable AA batteries instead and it never draws on the car at all.

How long do the batteries last?

It depends on the mode and how much it runs, so check it once a month. Use rechargeable AAs, as the manual specifies: plug the unit into USB and it charges them. On USB or the vehicle cable there is nothing to replace.

Do I need one unit or several?

Sound does not pass through walls or solid panels, so plan on one unit per space: one under the hood, one in the garage, one in the shed or the RV. That is what the 2- and 3-unit packs are for.

Signs of mice? Make it a bad place to nest.
